As a Corpus Christi wedding and elopement photographer, I love how the Chapel on the Dunes photographs in every season. The soft white walls bounce natural light beautifully, while the surrounding dunes and sea grass create dreamy textures in the background. The nearby beach is just a short walk away, making it easy to capture a variety of scenes—from heartfelt vows inside the chapel to windswept sunset portraits on the shoreline.

Chapel on the Dunes, provides beautiful indoor shade so it's perfect for weddings to take place anytime of the day. However, after your ceremony is over and you plan on taking portraits outside, the lighting might or might not be ideal. Lighting is everything when it comes to photos and it can change the mood or vibe of your photos. How photos look at high noon will look differently as compared to the evening or early morning so it's best suggested to keep that in mind when you are planning your ceremony time.
For the most flattering light, I recommend scheduling your ceremony at the Chapel on the Dunes during or just before golden hour—an hour to an hour and a half before sunset. Evening light is perfect for bold, dramatic skies. The setting is ideal for my bold & moody portraiture. When in doubt, ask your photographer for their opinion.

— Wedding Tips for Chapel on the Dunes —
Keep your guests list small and intimate: The chapel is small and only holds between 18-22 people. Keep in mind how many vendors you will have at your wedding- they count, too. The smaller, the better.
Plan for accessibility: The chapel sits on a dune and requires walking up steps. Make sure your guests know ahead of time and wear comfortable shoes . Heels can be a bit tricky and can be a challenge for guests with disabilities. *NOTE: If you plan on going to the beach for portraits after, bring a pair of sandals or choose to go barefoot.
Work with nature, not against it: Lightweight fabrics, simple attire, effortless hairstyles that work with the wind, and natural florals work best.
Coordinate with Chapel on the Dunes & your vendors to make sure you all are on the same page as far as times and anything that pertains to your wedding.
Have a backup plan: Always prepare for the unexpected. While the chapel offer shelter, the coastal weather can change quickly, Consider a backup space nearby especially if you are wanting a small reception with your guests such as an AIRBNB, Beach House, Restaurant, or your favorite local bar.
